Who runs this service

This Safe Bit instance is operated by Jan Musinski.

You can contact us at janekmusin@proton.me.

What this service does

Safe Bit creates and verifies committed bits. You send a secret and a timestamp, and the service returns a commitment and a bit. Later, you can send them back to check that they match.

Data we process

Do not put personal data in your secrets. We cannot tell what a secret contains.

Data we store

The only data stored in the service's database is its encryption keys, with the time range each key is valid for. The keys are generated randomly and contain no personal data.

We do not store the secrets, commitments or bits that you send. We do not have user accounts.

Logs

The application does not write access logs. It logs only errors, and error logs do not record request contents.

This service is hosted on Hack Club Nest (The Hack Foundation), on servers run by Hetzner Online GmbH in Finland. All traffic passes through Nest's reverse proxy, which handles HTTPS and can see your IP address and the requested URL. Under Nest's privacy policy (https://hackclub.app/privacy.pdf), IP addresses may be logged for security and abuse prevention and kept for up to one month.

Cookies, tracking and third parties

This site does not set cookies, does not store data in your browser, and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking. The pages load only files from this server, with no third-party scripts, fonts or images. We do not sell or share your data.

Your rights

Because we do not keep personal data about you, there is usually nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold data about you, or you have a question about this policy, contact us at janekmusin@proton.me.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
